Wij sluiten vandaag vier eerder geopende optieposities met winst. Het gaat om bull call spreads op GFS, DRAM, POET en IPGP. Dit zijn dus geen nieuwe trades, maar bestaande posities die eerder zijn ingenomen en nu uit de portefeuille worden gehaald.

Belangrijk is dat deze sluiting puur disciplinair is. Wij stonden goed in deze posities en de trades hebben in korte tijd rendement opgeleverd. Toch geldt bij optiespreads dat winstnemen soms sterker is dan blijven zitten voor het laatste stukje potentieel. De focus ligt nu op het veiligstellen van resultaat, het verlagen van open risico en het vrijmaken van ruimte voor nieuwe setups.

Deze vier posities werden eerder ingenomen als bullish spreads en hebben hun werk gedaan. GFS levert een winst van 26% op, DRAM wordt gesloten met een zeer sterke winst van 291%, POET levert 223% op en IPGP wordt afgesloten met een winst van 80%.

De sluiting betekent niet dat wij plots negatief zijn geworden over deze aandelen. Dit is vooral een kwestie van discipline. Wanneer spreads in korte tijd stevig oplopen, verandert de risk/reward. De open winst wordt dan belangrijker dan het najagen van de laatste resterende dollars richting expiratie.

Bij DRAM en POET is de winst uitzonderlijk snel opgelopen. Dat zijn precies het soort posities waarbij niet te lang moet worden gewacht. Bij GFS is de winst kleiner, maar nog steeds netjes genoeg om het risico uit de markt te halen. Bij IPGP is de looptijd langer, maar ook daar is 80% winst voldoende om de trade professioneel af te ronden.

Wij halen deze posities daarom uit de portefeuille. De winst wordt veiliggesteld, het risico wordt verlaagd en de portefeuille blijft flexibel voor nieuwe kansen.

Four previously opened bull call spreads are being closed with gains on discipline

Today we are closing four previously opened option positions with profit. These are bull call spreads on GFS, DRAM, POET and IPGP. These are therefore not new trades, but existing positions that were opened earlier and are now being removed from the portfolio.

The key point is that this closing is purely disciplined risk management. We were positioned well in these trades and the positions generated gains in a short period of time. Still, with option spreads, taking profit can be stronger than staying exposed for the final part of potential upside. The focus is now on locking in results, reducing open risk and freeing up capital for new setups.

These four positions were previously opened as bullish spreads and have done their job. GFS delivers a gain of 26%, DRAM is being closed with a very strong gain of 291%, POET delivers 223% and IPGP is being closed with a gain of 80%.

The closing does not mean that we have suddenly turned negative on these stocks. This is mainly a matter of discipline. When spreads increase sharply in value in a short period of time, the risk/reward changes. The open profit then becomes more important than chasing the final remaining dollars into expiration.

In DRAM and POET, the gains increased exceptionally fast. These are exactly the type of positions where waiting too long makes little sense. In GFS, the gain is smaller, but still solid enough to take the risk off the table. In IPGP, the expiration is further out, but an 80% gain is still enough to close the trade professionally.

We are therefore removing these positions from the portfolio. The profits are locked in, risk is reduced and the portfolio remains flexible for new opportunities.
